NICL AO Recruitment 2026: 321 Administrative Officer Vacancies, Salary 1,14,000 Per Month

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a Government of India undertaking, has announced a recruitment notification for 321 Administrative Officer (AO) posts in Generalist and Specialist disciplines under Scale I. • Administrative Officer (Generalist): 200 Posts

• Automobile Engineers: 20 Posts
• Risk Engineers: 28 Posts
• Company Secretaries: 2 Posts
• Agriculture: 20 Posts
• Information Technology Specialist Backlog: 1 Post

Candidates can apply for only one discipline. If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the latest valid completed application will be considered.

Qualification

Candidates must have the required qualification on or before 1st October 2026. The required qualification depends on the discipline.

• Finance (CA & CMA): Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), along with a degree or postgraduate degree in any discipline.
• Legal: Graduate or postgraduate degree in Law.
• Information Technology: B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology, or MCA.
• Automobile Engineers: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Automobile Engineering, or a relevant engineering degree with a diploma of at least one year in Automobile Engineering.
• Risk Engineers: Engineering graduation or postgraduation in a discipline other than the specified IT and Automobile Engineering disciplines.
• Company Secretaries: ACS/FCS from ICSI, along with graduation or postgraduation in any discipline.
• Agriculture: Four-year graduation or postgraduate degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Biotechnology, or Agricultural Engineering.
• Generalist Officers: Graduation or postgraduation in any stream from a recognized university.

For most of the above qualifications, candidates must have at least 60% marks. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are eligible with at least 55% marks, wherever specified in the notification.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive a salary and other benefits according to NICL rules.

• Starting Basic Pay: ₹82,485 per month
• Pay Scale: ₹82,485 – ₹1,56,745
• Approximate Total Emoluments: ₹1,14,000 per month at metropolitan centres
• Other Benefits: Pension under the New Pension Scheme, gratuity, leave travel subsidy, medical benefits, group personal accident insurance and company or leased accommodation as per rules.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as of 1st October 2026.

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years
• Eligible Date of Birth: Candidates must have been born between 2nd October 1996 and 1st October 2005, inclusive.

Age relaxation is available for eligible categories as follows:

• SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 years
• PwBD General/EWS Candidates: 10 years
• PwBD SC/ST Candidates: 15 years
• PwBD OBC Candidates: 13 years
• Eligible Ex-Servicemen: As specified in the official notification
• Existing confirmed employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies: 8 years

Application Fee

Candidates must pay the application fee online between 8th October 2026 and 28th October 2026.

• SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: ₹250 (intimation charges and GST)
• All Other Candidates: ₹1,000 (application fee, intimation charges and GST)

Bank transaction charges, if applicable, must be paid by the candidate. The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The NICL Administrative Officer selection process includes the following stages:

• Phase I: Preliminary Online Examination
• Phase II: Main Online Examination, including objective and descriptive tests
• Interview
• Medical Fitness Check

The preliminary examination carries 100 marks and includes English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude.

The main examination includes objective tests for 250 marks and a descriptive English test for 30 marks. Specialist candidates will also have a test on technical and professional knowledge related to their discipline.

Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the main examination and interview. The weightage is 80% for the main examination and 20% for the interview.
