Out of the 28 vacancies, two posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen and two posts for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, as mentioned in the notification.
Qualification
Candidates must have passed SSC/10th Standard or an equivalent examination with Science subjects and secured at least 55% marks.
Applicants must also meet the relevant trade qualification requirement. This may include:
- An ITI certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the required trade.
- Two years of full-time apprenticeship training in the relevant trade.
- Three years of relevant work experience, where accepted for the selected post.

Salary Details
- Pay Level: Level 2
- Pay Scale: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month
- Approximate Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 37,260 at the minimum of the pay scale, including applicable House Rent Allowance at Mysuru headquarters.
Other applicable allowances and benefits will be provided according to CSIR and Government of India rules.

Selection Process
The selection process for CSIR-CFTRI Technician (1) Recruitment 2026 includes the following stages:
- Screening of Applications: Applications will be checked to confirm eligibility.
- Trade Test: Eligible shortlisted candidates will attend a trade test related to their selected trade. This test is qualifying in nature.
- Written Examination: Candidates who qualify in the trade test will be called for a competitive written examination.
- Final Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Paper II and Paper III. Paper I is qualifying in nature.
The written examination will be an objective-type examination conducted in OMR-based or computer-based mode, as specified in the notification.
