ISRO URSC Recruitment 2026: 61 Technician and Driver Vacancies – Apply Online

The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru, which works under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has released a recruitment notification for 61 vacancies. The recruitment is for Technician-B, Heavy Vehicle Driver-A, Light Vehicle Driver-A and Staff Car Driver-A posts. Candidates who have passed 10th standard and have the required ITI qualification or driving experience can apply for the suitable posts. Eligible candidates must submit their applications online before the last date.

• Technician-B – Electronics Mechanic / Technician Power Electronic Systems / Consumer Electronics Appliances / Instrument Mechanic / Mechanic Industrial Electronics: 24 Posts
• Technician-B – Fitter: 8 Posts
• Technician-B – Electrician: 4 Posts
• Technician-B – Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (R&A/C): 5 Posts
• Technician-B – Turner: 1 Post
• Technician-B – Machinist: 2 Posts
• Technician-B – Motor Vehicle Mechanic: 1 Post
• Technician-B – Electroplater: 1 Post
• Light Vehicle Driver-A: 3 Posts
• Staff Car Driver-A: 2 Posts
• Heavy Vehicle Driver-A: 10 Posts
• Total Vacancies: 61 Posts

Qualification

Candidates must meet the educational and other eligibility requirements for their selected post.

• Technician-B: Candidates must pass SSLC/SSC/Matriculation and have ITI/NTC/NAC in the relevant trade from NCVT.
• Light Vehicle Driver-A: Candidates must pass SSLC/SSC/Matriculation or equivalent, have at least 3 years of experience as a Light Vehicle Driver and hold a valid Light Vehicle Driving Licence.
• Staff Car Driver-A: Candidates must pass SSLC/SSC/Matriculation or equivalent, have at least 3 years of experience as a Light Vehicle Driver and hold a valid Light Vehicle Driving Licence.
• Heavy Vehicle Driver-A: Candidates must pass SSLC/SSC/Matriculation or equivalent and have 5 years of driving experience, including at least 3 years as a Heavy Vehicle Driver. The remaining experience must be as a Light Motor Vehicle Driver. A valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence and Public Service Badge, where required, are also necessary.

For driver posts, the required experience must be gained after obtaining the valid driving licence. Experience certificates from government, semi-government agencies, registered companies, societies or trusts are accepted as specified in the notification. Part-time experience will not be counted.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the applicable pay level.

• Technician-B: ₹21,700 per month under Pay Level 3, plus admissible allowances.
• Light Vehicle Driver-A: ₹19,900 per month under Pay Level 2, plus admissible allowances.
• Staff Car Driver-A: ₹19,900 per month under Pay Level 2, plus admissible allowances.
• Heavy Vehicle Driver-A: ₹19,900 per month under Pay Level 2, plus admissible allowances.

Other benefits may include medical facilities, transport, accommodation subject to availability and rules, and other benefits provided by ISRO.

Age Limit

The age limit will be calculated as of 13th November 2026.

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years
• SC/ST candidates can get 5 years of upper-age relaxation for vacancies reserved for their categories.
• OBC candidates can get 3 years of upper-age relaxation for vacancies reserved for their categories.
• Other eligible categories, including persons with benchmark disabilities and ex-servicemen, may receive age relaxation according to Government of India rules.

Candidates should check the official notification for the applicable age-relaxation conditions.

Application Fee

• Initial payment for each application: ₹500.
• Non-refundable application fee: ₹100.
• Women, SC/ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from the application fee as specified in the notification.
• Eligible candidates who appear for the written test will receive the applicable refund. Exempted candidates will receive a full refund, while other candidates will receive ₹400 after deduction of the application fee.
• Candidates who do not appear for the written test will not receive the fee refund.

Selection Process

The selection process includes the following stages:

• Initial screening based on academic performance and details provided in the online application.
• Written Test or Computer-Based Test.
• Skill Test for candidates shortlisted after the written examination.
• Verification of documents and eligibility.

The written test and skill test requirements differ according to the post. The skill test is qualifying in nature. Candidates must pass the applicable tests and meet all eligibility requirements for final selection.
