SSC CPO Recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026 for recruitment to 1,871 tentative vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online for Sub-Inspector posts in Delhi Police and various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) before the last date.

The vacancies are tentative and include category-wise reservations as applicable. Candidates selected for CAPF posts are liable to serve anywhere in India.

Qualification

Applicants must meet the educational qualification prescribed for the respective post as on the closing date of online applications.

  • For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Candidates who are appearing in their Bachelor’s degree examination may also apply, provided they acquire the required qualification on or before the closing date of applications.
  • For Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, for SI (Fire), candidates may possess Matriculation or equivalent along with a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobiles, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical or Telecommunication Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university, board or institution.
  • Higher qualifications such as B.Tech/M.Tech in relevant fields may be considered as value addition for SI (Fire), subject to possession of the basic Diploma qualification.
  • Male candidates applying for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police must possess a valid Driving Licence for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests.

Salary Details

  • Pay Level: Level-6
  • Pay Scale: Rs. 35,400/- to Rs. 1,12,400/-

Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF are classified as Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial posts, while Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police is classified as Group ‘C’ by Delhi Police.

Age Limit

Age Limit as on 1st August 2026:

  • For all posts except SI (Fire) in CISF: 20 to 25 years.
  • For SI (Fire) in CISF: 18 to 30 years.
  • For most posts, candidates must have been born between 2nd August 2001 and 1st August 2006.
  • For SI (Fire) in CISF, candidates must have been born between 2nd August 1996 and 1st August 2008.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
  • OBC Candidates: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age
  • Additional age relaxation is applicable to eligible categories as specified in the official notification.
  • Departmental candidates of Delhi Police with at least 3 years of regular and continuous service may be eligible for relaxation up to 30 years for UR/EWS, 33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST candidates.

Application Fee

  • For General / Other Candidates: Rs. 100/-
  • For Women Candidates: No Fee
  • For SC Candidates: No Fee
  • For ST Candidates: No Fee
  • For eligible Ex-Servicemen: No Fee

The application fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and RuPay Debit Card. The last date for online fee payment is 1st October 2026 up to 11:00 PM.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through the following stages:

  • Computer Based Examination – Paper-I
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Physical Endurance Test (PET)
  • Computer Based Examination – Paper-II
  • Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME)
  • Document Verification
  • Final Selection and Allocation of Post/Force

Paper-I and Paper-II will be objective multiple-choice examinations. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.

The minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-II, without adding NCC bonus marks, are 30% for UR candidates, 25% for OBC/EWS candidates and 20% for all other categories.

PST/PET and Medical Examination are qualifying in nature. Ex-Servicemen candidates are not required to undergo PET, but they must qualify in the prescribed PST and other applicable stages.

Final selection and allocation of Post/Force will be based on performance in Paper-II, including applicable NCC bonus marks, and the preferences exercised by the candidates.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official Staff Selection Commission website. Candidates must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website before submitting the online application.

  • Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process if not already registered.
  • Log in using the Registration Number and Password.
  • Find the “Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026” notification under the Latest Notifications section.
  • Click on the Apply link and enter the required personal, educational and other details.
  • Upload/complete the required photograph and signature requirements.
  • Pay the application fee, if applicable.
  • Preview the application form carefully and verify all details.
  • Submit the application form before the last date.
  • Take a printout or save a copy of the submitted application form for future reference.
