Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has invited applications for 51 posts on contract basis under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga. The project is funded by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Namami Gange Programme. The engagements will be purely on contract basis initially for a period of one year and may be extended on a case-to-case basis depending upon the performance of the candidates as per requirement.

Qualification
Scientist-D: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/Natural Science or First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy and Environment/Biotechnology). Candidates must also meet the prescribed publication/book/technical report criteria and have 7 years of relevant practical experience in prevention, control and abatement of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management.
Scientist-C: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/Natural Science or First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology in Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy and Environment/Biotechnology. Candidates must also meet the prescribed publication/book/technical report criteria and have 5 years of relevant practical experience in prevention, control and abatement of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management.
Scientist-B: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/Natural Science or First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology in Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy and Environment/Biotechnology, along with valid GATE score with 90% above percentile/NET-JRF qualified. Required experience is 3 years of relevant experience.
Assistant Manager (Finance): First class Master’s Degree in Commerce (Finance & Accounting/Taxations)/Chartered Accountant/MBA (Finance & Accounting). Required experience is 8 years’ post qualification experience in the relevant field, including computer and office software usage, spreadsheet and database knowledge, minimum 2 years of tax experience, accounting entries in Tally & QuickBooks, preparation of vouchers, filing online returns for TDS, GST, PF, ESI, STPI etc., and payroll preparation and management.
Administrative Assistant: First Class Bachelor Degree from a recognized University or equivalent with working knowledge of computers. Minimum 05 years post qualification experience of administration work, preferably in Govt./PSU/Autonomous bodies in the relevant area in 4200/- grade pay or its equivalent. Shall pass the skill test based on noting drafting. Desirable: First Class Post-Graduation degree.
Scientific Assistant: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/Natural Science or First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology in Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy and Environment/Biotechnology, along with valid GATE score with 90% above percentile/NET-JRF qualified.
Taxonomist: First Class M.Sc. Desirable: Master’s Degree in Botany or Zoology with minimum 75% marks or equivalent, valid GATE score with 90% above percentile/NET-JRF qualified, and the prescribed publication/book/technical report criteria.
Data Entry Operator: First class Bachelor Degree in Science/BCA. Shall pass the skill test in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), English typing speed @45 wpm and Hindi typing speed @35 wpm on computer.
Field Assistant: Passed 10+2 in Science with minimum 55%. Knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation.
Candidates should have passed qualifying degree examinations and been awarded M.Sc./Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology through full-time regular courses from recognized Indian Universities/Institutes in the specified disciplines.

Selection Process
Recruitment will be made through interview subject to document verification. Relevant documents, mark-sheets and experience certificates will be verified and screening will be made. Candidates who qualify the document verification and screening criteria will be interviewed by a selection committee.
In case a large number of candidates apply, the Selection/Screening Committee may shortlist candidates for interview based on written exam, percentage of marks, desirable qualification, relevant experience, higher qualification or any other criteria as deemed fit.
