CCRS Chennai Recruitment 2026: Apply for Social Worker, UDC & LDC Posts

The Central Council for Research in Siddha, an Autonomous Organization under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, invites applications from suitable candidates for the following posts to be filled upon Direct Recruitment basis.

Qualification

• Social Worker: Degree from a recognized University and Diploma in Social Work of minimum one year duration from a recognized University/Institution and one year experience in Social Work in a recognized Institution/Hospital. OR Post-graduate degree in Sociology from a recognized University.
• Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Degree of a recognized University or equivalent, at least three years’ experience in correspondence work in Govt./Semi Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies/Institutions, and thorough knowledge of office routine/rules and regulations.
• Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University and typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi or Tamil on Computer.

Salary Details

• Social Worker: Pay Level – 6: Rs. 35400 – 112400 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Pay Level – 4: Rs. 25500 – 81100 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Pay Level – 2: Rs. 19900 – 63200 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)

Age Limit

• Social Worker: 30 years and below as on 01.01.2026.
• Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Between 18 and 27 years of age. Relaxable for Government servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.
• Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Between 18 and 27 years of age. Relaxable for Government servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.

Application Fee

• Application Fee: Rs. 300/-
• Fee should be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of Central Council for Research in Siddha and payable at Chennai.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)/SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their requisite educational qualifications, experience, etc.
• The shortlisted candidates are required to attend a Written Test at their own cost.
• Final selection list would be prepared in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the Written Test considering the number of vacancies.
• The Written Test and Personal Interview, whichever applicable, will be conducted at Central Council for Research in Siddha, HQ., Ministry of Ayush, GST Road, Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai – 600 047 only.
• Skill/Type Test is mandatory for the post of Lower Division Clerk. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature.
• The typing test will be conducted on Computer. A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Tamil or Hindi on Computer is required for qualifying the type test.

• The application should be strictly in the prescribed format. Application in any other format will be rejected.
• Annexure-I is for Social Worker, Annexure-II is for Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and Annexure-III is for Lower Division Clerk (LDC).
• Candidates can apply separately for more than one post, subject to fulfilment of criteria for the respective posts. Candidates applying for more than one post have to apply separately with requisite fees.
• Self-attested photocopies of documents in support of Essential Qualifications, Experience, etc. should be sent along with the application.
• A recent passport size colour photograph should be pasted on the space specified in the Application Form.
• The application form duly signed should be sent in an envelope superscribed as “Application for the post of ______________” by Speed Post only.
