Customs Department Chennai Recruitment 2026 – Tradesman, Seaman & Greaser Posts – Apply Now

The Office of the Commissioner of Customs (General), Chennai has released a new job notification for Marine Wing posts. This recruitment is for Tradesman, Seaman, and Greaser positions. A total of 10 vacancies have been announced. Candidates who have completed 10th standard or ITI can apply for these posts. The monthly salary ranges from Rs.18,000 to Rs.63,200 depending on the post. Qualification

• Tradesman: Candidates should have ITI Trade Certificate in Mechanic / Diesel / Fitter / Turner / Welder / Electrician / Instrumental / Carpentry along with 10th pass or equivalent qualification and two years of experience in Engineering / Automobile / Ship Repair organization.
• Seaman: Candidates should have passed 10th standard or equivalent and must have three years of experience in sea going mechanized vessel with two years experience in helmsman and seamanship work.
• Greaser: Candidates should have passed 10th standard or equivalent and must have three years experience in sea going mechanized vessel in main and auxiliary machinery maintenance.

Salary Details

• Tradesman: Rs.19,900 to Rs.63,200 per month
• Seaman: Rs.18,000 to Rs.56,900 per month
• Greaser: Rs.18,000 to Rs.56,900 per month

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 25 Years
• Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rules.
